Aims
TA-SWISS supports the political decision making process in relevant scientific and technology issues.
TA-SWISS specifically targets its efforts on technological fields and applications that are publicly controversial. To this end, TA-SWISS gathers the views of citizens and compiles scientific and interdisciplinary studies.
TA-SWISS is an advisory body for Parliament and the Federal Council. It is funded by the Federal Government. Its aims are to prepare analyses and gather opinions on the potential risks and opportunities of new technologies as independently and objectively as possible.
It is a matter of demonstrating to politicians what possible effects might be expected from a new technology. And what might be the consequences of not applying it.
TA-SWISS is also committed to collaborating on international projects and cultivating interchange with European partner institutions, particularly in the EPTA network.
