Biotechnology and medicine

Whether the field is research on brain or stem cells, gene technology, in-vitro fertilisation or xenotransplantation: researchers in the fields of medicine and biotechnology are constantly creating new areas of knowledge. It is important to steer future technical applications along the desired lines. This calls for, among other things, legal, ethical and economic crash barriers.

It has often been the case that no social debate has been held on the values and principles to which new procedures in the biotechnological and medical fields should be bound to follow. With its projects, TA-SWISS supports the formation of opinion, whether in Parliament or among the population. Expert studies provide specialist information and arguments. The discussion forums determine the attitudes of the citizens.
